Robotic Rotary Joint

Also known as Robotic Rotary Union or Robot Slip Ring.

A device that consists of a stationary half connected to the robot arm and a rotating half connected to the wrist and tool. This configuration enables the pneumatic and electrical cables to stay in place whilst the cables required for the tool are free to rotate. Electricity is provided by the used of a slip ring.
