Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
A solid-state industrial control device used for automation of real-world processes, such as control of machinery on factory assembly lines. The controller receives inputs from user-supplied control devices, such as sensors and switches, implements them in a precise pattern determined by programs stored in the user memory, and provides outputs for control of processes or user-supplied devices such as relays and motor starters. The user has more control with this device since it can provide the status of performance of the robots.
