D-RAM

Abbreviation for: Dynamic Random Access Memory.

A read/write memory in which the basic memory cell is a capacitor. A battery can be used to retain the content upon loss of power. D-RAM tends to have a higher density than S-RAM; however, due to the support circuitry required and power consumption needs, it is generally impractical to use.
